The Cassie plant belongs to the Mimosa family. The leaves of this plant are feathery in appearance and the flowers are like yellow orbs. It is quite a resilient plant and can survive drought but however is unable to survive in extremely cold weather. It originated from India and has always been known for its therapeutic properties as well as being a well known aphrodisiac.
Oil
The Cassie absolute oil is thick, viscous and dark reddish brown in color. It is slightly semi solid at room temperature and needs to be heated to some degrees to become liquid again. It has a strong aroma of Cassie flowers, which is very sweet, floral and pleasing to the senses.
Extraction
This absolute oil is prepared by extracting the perfume of the Cassie flower. This perfume is known as pomade. The pomade is then mixed with alcohol and is allowed to stand for 2 to 3 weeks at a temperature of about -5 degrees centigrade.
