The Cypriol is a flowering shrub called Indian Papyrus which produces delicate and aromatic flowers that belongs to the cyperacaea plant family. The oil from this plant contains alkaloids, sodium, minerals, along with calcium, sodium, and carbonates and the oil is extracted from the rhizome through steam distillation. The oil is used in perfumes, soaps, medicine and incense sticks although it can also used as an insect repellent and due to its minimal cost, it is also used as a perfume fixative as it adds a unique and interesting note to masculine or unisex perfumes. In India it is believed that when the oil is applied to a man's forehead he is assured of a long series of successful love affairs.
