The avocado, Persia American, is a member of the genus Lauraceae, a pan tropical family. The tree can grow up to the height of 66 ft with regularly arranged leaves which are 4.7–9.8 inch long. The flowers are concealed, greenish-yellow in color ranging from 0.2–0.4 inch in width. The oblate shaped fruit is 2.8–7.9 inch long, weighing between 3.5 to 35.3 oz, and has a bulky central seed, which is 2.0–2.5 inch long. It is green, purple and black in color.
